"Government ought to be all outside and no inside. . . Everybody knows that corruption thrives in secret places, and avoids public places, and we believe it a fair presumption that secrecy means impropriety."
-Pres. Woodrow Wilson
About Us
We are a non-partisan group of volunteers who are improving confidence in elections by making elections more trustworthy in NC. We do this by working with elections officials to ensure that elections are transparent, secure, robustly audited, and publicly verified.
Since 2017, we’ve shown up for Board of Election meetings, election equipment testing, canvasses, audits and other publicly observable election processes - this helps our communities to stay informed about decisions the state and county BOEs are making.
Understanding and observing election processes is what keeps our democracy working for the people.

Lynn is the founder of Transparent Elections North Carolina, a volunteer group dedicated to improving trust in elections. TENC's mission is to work with election officials to ensure that elections are transparent, robustly audited, and publicly verified. She educates the public on how to legally and respectfully observe, which has helped increase confidence in elections.
Her degree from the University of Colorado, Boulder in Aerospace Engineering and her experience integrating and testing complex subsystems on satellites taught her to think critically about processes, procedures, and accountability. Her ideas and advocacy have led to improvements across the state and NC adopted her process to ensure that random audit selections are verifiably random. She is currently working on ways to create more public verification opportunities and continues to research audit standards in order to help develop evidence based elections.
When she’s not encouraging people in her community to get involved in election integrity, she loves spending time with her family, friends, and nature — hiking, kayaking, and foodscaping.
